Years ago Don Nielsen and I became interested in devising a Master Index for Magic, the idea being a kind of multiple listing of tricks filed according to effect, method, presentation, and so on, as well as by title & author. The idea died aborning, in large part due to the fact that one would have to devote a great deal of time to cateloging even the simplest tricks.
